Provost’s Distinguished Undergraduate Research Fellowship

The Provost’s Distinguished Undergraduate Research Fellowship is designed to enhance student engagement in rigorous, scholarly research.

The fellowship funds approximately 4-8 undergraduate students to participate in a cohort-based summer research experience.

In addition to the $6000 stipend, fellows participate in weekly reflection forums where they have the opportunity to seek guidance from a research advisor as they pursue their project, hear from guest speakers drawn from the faculty, receive feedback on their manuscripts, and are mentored to help them present and publish their findings within their perspective academic communities.

Provost Fellows Selection

The highest rated summer research applicants are drawn across all three programs administered by the CRF – SMURF, Kalorama, Raines – and can choose to opt in to be considered to join the Provost Fellows cohort. Students may not apply directly to the Provost Fellows.

Selected fellows receive a $6,000 summer stipend, as well as funding for conference and presentation fees.

CRF-sponsored summer research fellowships are an equal opportunity to all current Georgetown University undergraduates regardless of immigration status.
