NIH-Oxford Scholars Program

The National Institutes of Health-University of Oxford Scholars in Biomedical Sciences interdisciplinary program offers students the opportunity to receive training in biomedical research in pursuit of a Doctor of Philosphy degree from the Univeristy of Oxford.  Students study and work at both institutions as their projects are co-mentored by a research investigator at NIH and a faculty member at the University of Oxford and spend approximately half their time at both institutions.  The program offers support for a living stipend, health insurance, travel allowances, and other educational expenses.  Typically, students can complete the program in 3 to 4 years, although NIH provides funding for up to 5 years.

Admission to the first year class is restricted to US citizens and permanent residents.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree by the time of admission.
